Youth needing direction and training in Mali
Partenaires pour la Mission Globale et les Ministères (PMGM) is shortened
to Partners in Mission, when speaking English. They are located in Bamako, Mali, in Africa.
Partners in Mission began ministry efforts back in 1999 and 2000, and in 2003 became formally
structured as a registered entity. The founders were Rev. Tiowa Diarra, Mr. Jacques Dembele, Mr.
Lassana Traore, and Mr. Andre Diarra, and they involve 16 in the whole work. They meet once a
year for reports, assessments and evaluations.
They are targeting both Northern Mali (Far North and Middle North) and Southern Mali (The Capital
City: Bamako).
They are working informally with the Evangelical Baptist Church, which is close to
their Mission Field, the Ten Lakes People, Western Timbuktu and Southern Timbuktu.
Partners in Mission has a non-formal relationship with the National Evangelical Fellowship
in Mali. Rev. Diarra, the President has been General Secretary of this Fellowship for 4 years.
As word gets around, many churches have begun to ask to have their members trained in evangelistic
and mission work. So far they have already partnered in training people in these denominations and
mission organizations;
Assemblies of God, Baptists,
Allianz Mission,
Eglise Protestante Evangelique,
Lutherans,
Eglise Chretienne Evangelique,
Mission d'Implantation des Eglises
IFES representation in Mali and Mission Kalima.
They are officially collaborating with Society International of Linguistic (SIL-Mali) in the field
of Intercultural studies within the Global Mission Institute.

Many doors open up to medical aide
Before its structuring phase, Partenaires pour la Mission Globale et les Ministères had
conducted Short-term Missions among Touaregs and Dafing people.
This opened the door for church planting among these people.
Today, there is a Pastor among the Dafing people in Baye. The Baptist Church in Gossi also has been
strengthened. Both places have been visited by short-terms mission Teams since 1999-2000. After
being structured, the pastor has kept the same duty in the North. An average of 2 Short-term
outreaches take place every year.
Partners in Mission are targeting Youth and Children through a project that needs funding. This is
the Bethany Center for Street Kids Care. This project is going to take care of
street kids, to protect them against delinquency and prison. The purpose is to bring them back to
their family by raising the income of the family and give them a balanced family life. All these
will be done with respect to Christian Ethics and Evangelism. They are aiming to give them hope and
contact with the Gospel.
Partners in Mission started the Global Mission Institute in 2005. This is a
unique Program in their country, offering Mission Courses at under-graduate level to nationals
already in the Mission Field or willing to prepare to go after their Training.
The Bethany Center is planning to offer vocational training to street children.
Those who won't be able to go back to school will get the opportunity to get this training.

In 2005, Partners in Mission brought two containers of medical equipment to the area west of
Timbuctu, and distributed them in nine community centers in that region. It was a great expense to
the mission, but as a result a church has been planted in that area.
This year, (2006) they are running a Global Mission Institute and national Tentmaking
training.
The PGMG has held the Second Residential Tentmakers Training Seminar. The Training took place in two locations:

Kayes (Western Mali: August 14-18, 2006)

and Sikasso (Southern Mali: August 20-24) 43 people have been trained.
This bring Partners in Mission to mentor/follow up 74 tentmakers in two years. Among the participants were nurses,
architects, an engineer, soldiers, teachers and business men. Many work in strong muslim areas where there is no church.
This year, they had opprtunity to host people from Guinea Bissau and Niger to the courses.
85 people from 24 Nations participated in the First All Africa TI Conference and the Third Tentmakers Training Sessions in Bamako, Mali.
After two years in the planning, the Partners in Mission are grateful for the success of this important event.
Tentmakers International is working in Africa to enhance Research, Information, Training, Training Materials, Mobilization, Mentorings for tentmakers. The Conference was designed to train and inform tentmakers who will carry out the great commission through their trades and professions, mainly in remote areas and among unreached people.
The 2nd Conference will be held in 2010 in a strategic country in Africa.
Partners in Mission is a non-profit organization for spreading the Glorious
Gospel, and are focused on building up skills to enable this to be a durable Mission.
Their The Global Mission Institute is training national missionaries in Mali. They
are working hard to make this ministry sustainable by purchasing their own property. They are
offering churches in their regions practical help, and a higher standard of training for their
Christian workers.
This planned Bethany Center needs funding. Once, they get this place up and
running, they expect their Headquarters to be sustainable, for they will no longer be paying rent,
and many children will gain vocational skills at the Center.
Their Short-term Mission Program is aimed at Church Planting. We notice that they
are quite enthusiastic and creative in the projects they take on, sometimes helping other missions,
or local churches, sometimes using literature, and bringing in medicines and medical equipment, and
the Jesus film with their teams.
They have translated some tools such as, 7 Courses on Tentmaking by Steinar Opheim.
They have translated one booklet designed by one partner on How to Set Up and Run a Tentmaking
National Office. These courses will help many nationals go forth to preach and teach, while
supporting themselves with other jobs.
Some funds have come from donation, membership contributions, one time assistance for some projects,
(basically for training). More are always awaited and prayed for, as things are kept on hold, like
the Bethany Center for Children. See the Budget schedule above
1. to join the mission on Short-term Outreach trips.
2. to build up the Guest Center for youth activities in the suburb of the capital city. The building
will be used for the Bethany Center for street children care; youth camps, seminars, offices, etc.
In return, volunteers and donors will be gladly offered food and lodging while on the mission
field, as well as symbolic gifts for acknowledgement and thanks.
Some can give and pray. Some can only pray, but this is vital too! Take note of these prayer
items, and get in touch with them for newsletters and updates.
Pray for:
- the development of Partners in Mission in Mali.
- the leadership, as they train and spread tentmaking Africans all over Africa.
- the Training sessions within the Global Mission Institute.
- the 2nd All Africa Tentmaking Conference in 2010
